Pastor, Friendship Baptist Church
For 19 years, James Allen Terrance Jr. has made it his mission to empower the people of God to cultivate their God-given talents, while developing and building a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His vision for the people of God is clear: “We must fulfill the great Commission by sharing the love of God in Christ Jesus with every person through Evangelism, Discipleship, Fellowship, Ministry and Worship.” For this is our purpose in life.
As Pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church since 2003, Pastor Terrance (affectionately known as Pastor T) serves one of the most faithful congregations in Kansas City, Missouri. In the last five years, God has seen fit to plant a seed of growth within our congregation. The membership has significantly increased.

Friendship currently has over 60 ministries that reflect the holistic ministry of Jesus Christ aimed at validating and empowering those who have been marginalized by society. As a church, we are passionate about reaching persons from all walks of life that encompasses our diverse congregation and community by continually striving to meet their needs.
The church has one Sunday Worship Service, two weekly Bible Studies known as “Wonderful Wednesday” where Pastor T teaches the pure, unadulterated and true Word of God, and Bible Study Classes geared for Women, ages 18 and above, Men, ages 18 and above, and classes designed specifically for our children and youth, ages 5 to 18 years of age.
As a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Pastor T graduated from Southern University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Studies. He graduated from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2009 with his Master of Divinity Degree.
As a popular guest preacher and evangelist, Pastor T stands firm on the Word of God embracing the challenge of providing relevant ministry to both the saved as well as the unsaved in the twenty-first century. He is recognized as a leader in Christian Education currently serving as the President of the New Era District Congress of Christian Education and an instructor for the State and National Congress of Christian Education. Pastor T is a Christian educator, bible based TEACHER, PASTOR, PREACHER, one who is full of the Holy Spirit; a visionary with purpose and empowered by God.
Pastor T is married to Prentice H. Terrance (affectionately known as his Prime Rib) and is the proud father of two sons, Jalen Ashton and Tyler James Terrance. Above all else, he loves the Lord and is sold out for the cause of Christ!
